on tax controversy in which he defends clients before all Belgian and

maze of tax laws, etc.

clients in general corporate income tax planning and VAT law.
Philippe Renier started
his career at Tiberghien law firm, worked for
six years in the tax controversy department of Laga
and lead for many years the tax controversy practice of HVG (Ernst &
Philippe has published
numerous tax related articles in matters that concern national and
international tax litigation. Philippe is a member of the International
Fiscal Association, and regularly lectures on specialized tax seminars.
Furthermore, he lectures the subject tax procedural law at the University
of Brussels (Odisee) and is linked to the
University of Hasselt as a voluntary researcher in the area of tax law.
Philippe litigated the following cases before the ECJ: C-499/05 and
C-68/15. He also successfully defended cases before the Belgian
